Brief History of the Steam Building
Years ago our steam building was nothing more than a shack. Literally no more than 4x4 posts and a tin roof. Since, we have grown so much, we now hold a large pole building with three large boilers and many stationary steam engines and pumps.. Club owned equipment consists of Orr & Stembower, (scotch boiler) Kawnee Locomotive boiler, Titusville return flue boiler, two cylinder Brownnell engine, Dick & Church Horizontal engine with 32 k generator, and assorted steam pumps. Member owned equipment that you will find on display are Titusville, Ajax, Tift, Star ; oil field drilling engine, Mundy winch, Frick, Russell 6 HP; portable, Farquar vertical engine with unknown make. We have several members that continue to improve our steam exhibits. Currently the work that is being done in our steam building includes re-setting stationary engines. We had concrete donated by two members, Bob Kerns and the late Fred Gellener. We have installed safety railings for our public viewers, new smoke stack 1999, new lighting, and proper exhaust through out..
Our Steam Building is in operation at all shows from sun up till sun down. Inside you will find displays of operating stationary steam engines, pumps, and boilers. Please stop in, and ask our help for a demonstration. We will be glad to show you.
